Here is a picture I wanted to share of my little agricolae. Very neat species! They have loads of attidude for their size! hehe

At what age do you guys consider them mature? As soon as I figure the sex of this little guy, I'll be wanting another one. I'd really like to breed them.

Hey Nir! Welcome to GU :D!

The little guy/girl looks like he/she is doing great! I'd assume as with most species maturity is around 12-18 months, though of course I'm not 100% sure for this species as I don't have any...ATM.. :(. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in. Good luck on finding him/her a mate! Baby E.Argricolae are too cute!

I'd wait till they are at least! 18 months old. I personally prefer to introduce animals after their second winter. (Which makes them close to 2 years and 4 or 5 months old)
Female weight between 12 and 14 grams.

Thanks guys for your input! That's basically what I was thinking.

I took some shots of the vent area and wanted a second opinion on it's sex. I'm 100 % sure it's female. Second opinions are always good! hehe

Probably a female. Have you got a bigger picture? I do see some black dots on the scales which might make it a male.

Males are extremely easy to sex. They will develop pores as early as 3 months of age (possibly even sooner!)

I'd say female for now...But a bigger picture with him/her on a flat surface will allow us to tell you with 100% accuracy.
Whats his/her age now?

I bought it at the start of october and he was very small. So he is probably 4-5 months old.

Two other pics...

In this one, he is less in a walking mode... Sorry for the color, had to brighten it on PS.

This one is blurry, but it clearly shows there are no pores...

I'd agree that it's a female. As was already mentioned, the pores show very early and are very obvious on this species. Unfortunately, I know all to well, as I hatched out 3 last year and they were all males LOL.

Gary

I heard that the pores were almost visible from day 1. Did you observe this?

Truthfully, I've never really tried that young. When I finally did get around to checking, I was quite shocked at how obvious they were. Probably could have successfully checked much earlier.

Thanks for all the comments and response to my questions.

Derek, I also really like that picture! But I always find it quite impressive that he was almost twice as small when I got him....

EDIT: I was curious and took some measurement. The following picture is him 9 days after arriving here. The blue line represents 1 cm based on the ledge being 7 mm. So using that, the geckos SVL is around 4 - 4.5 cm..... Soooo Small!!!! hehe
