How far are you traveling and from where?

How will you transport them?

I take my geckos back and forth from my classroom on school breaks. They stay in their tanks and I just load them onto the backseat of my car, but its only about a 5 minute car ride, so it doesn't bother them too much.

I'm currently in FL fo 7 weeks. 3 weeks left to go. I took one with me from FL to CA. The other 13 I got a sitter for...

Well, if you're flying I don't think it'll be easy. You probably need some kind of permit or who knows what - you know how airlines are with pets. But I don't know that for sure.

If you're driving, that's a, what, 2 day drive from Florida? That might be a little too tedious for them, bouncing around for 17 hours.

The drive would be fine if you think about a gecko being shipped next day. They're in the box for an extended period of time. If he packs up the gecko properly I don't see why that would be a problem.

And yes. I have a sitter for 13 of my 14 leos. I'm aquiring leos like crazy. Lol. Giovanna, Lydia, Elliott, Lylah, Cleatus, Phinneus, Ephram, Daphne, Claudia, Fiona, Bennett, Jette, Josephine and Waverly.

edit* To fly a gecko with you on a plane you have to pay a fee. They wanted me to pay about $60 to bring her on the fight.

They will be absolutely fine for a week by themselves at home. In fact, the stress from taking them out of their normal environment would do more harm than good. Feed them well before you leave and make sure they have some water. Nothing to worry about.

I have a similar situation. I will be out of town for 5 days around Christmas. I have 2 geckos and may not have someone to feed them. I have the option of bringing them to my moms house, she is willing to take care of them for me (she cant come to my house because she cant do stairs).
Is 5 days too long to leave them? My main concern is that the heat in my apartment is not consistent and can drop from 70 degrees to 58 degrees depending on the weather outside. The change in temperature in my apartment affects the temps in their tanks so I am worried that it will change and make it either too cold or too hot for them.
Any suggestions?
Should I bring them to my moms house for that week?
