laticauda and calcium licking question

Currently I dust the crickets my laticauda eats with calcium and vitamins (with d3). Should I also add a dish of calcium for him to lick? Could that result in an over dose?

Any help would be appreciated.

With my leopards and other geckos when I put a dish of calcium in I always put one without D3. I would say you really only want to dust with the D3 so you can control the intake. I have never heard of people butting dishes of calcium in with day geckos though. It would probably just be easier to add it to their fruit mix that you use.

My gold dust is on a diet and is only getting fruit once per month. That is why I thought about adding the calcium dish. Some one recommended I do that but I do not remember who.

He does not eat the CGD yet but I am hoping after I have his weight down to start him on that. I tried a little and I don't think he ate any.

i add calcium to the repashy diet for my juvenile gargoyles as they often get tail kinks from growth spurts and for my females in the breeding season. since many people use the Repashy diet for their Phelsuma i do not see the harm and adding a little more calcium as the extra calcium would pass though their systems
