Canadian source for bamboo?

Hi there one and all,

I am looking for bamboo that is about 1 - 3 inches in diameter for my gold dust tank. Anyone know of a source in Canada - better yet, in the Toronto, Barrie, Orillia area so I can avoid shipping? Do I need to be aware of any chemical issues with this product, especially if it comes from a regular garden center?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you can wait until the February Expo, there are a lot of vendors selling it. You could contact Gecko Brothel in Guelph, they have it, even though I can't find it on the website. Gecko Brothel

They say they have poles from 1"-5" in diameter. I never made it into toronto to check it out. I was ably to find 1" poles in a bundle at walmart. I found my 2" bamboo at Michaels. They weren't cheap but I didn't need that much of it and it was the only place local that I could find it. The only local pet store that had it wanted way too much money for it. I think they were trying to sell a 6' 2" pole for 25 bucks.

As for chemicals i just scrubbed mine down with soap and water after cutting to the right length and left them to dry before putting them in.
