Does anyone have an idea what this bubble on the cricket might be?

It was alive when I took the pictures. I should have taken it out of the frog tank, because of of them ate it as soon as I finished taking the pictures. I'm just hoping it got stuck while molting, not some alien emerging from the body.

Its a alien cricket ! The mutant form that has evolved do survive even if putted for food in a tank , they gros a big baloon and fly up the sky :)

Already saw a cricket similar to this one but the bubble was only 1/4 of your. My deformed cricket was dead and i'm pretty sure it was from a bad molt.

Thanks :)
I'll go along with it being a one-in-a-million oddball thing, nothing stranger than a molting accident. None of the other crickets 2000 crickets I've got here right now are showing anything like it, and I've never seen that in almost 20 years of having crickets.

Maybe it's a missing link to an undiscovered cricket jellyfish hybrid? ;)

Whoa, now that is weird. I'd guess probably something to do with a molt as well. It looks like a type of membrane that just puffed up for some reason or another. I wouldn't be too worried about it.

We should collect them all, leash them together and see if they float away. Anyone get visions of "UP"?
