He came this morning around 9:40. I bought him from Switzer Reptiles, he is a nice, active, plump adult male. And they even went the extra mile to give me a culture of fruit flies.

P.S. Sorry for the crappy photos. I forgot the charger at work, so the battery was dieing, and I was trying to get the best snaps I could before the battery died.

Beautiful enclousure and male
Do you keep him alone in that cage? What size is it?
How do you drain that much water?

Thanks for the comments. Yes, I keep him alone in there, I am planning on getting a 12x12x18 for a female and him, and this viv (which is 12x12x12) will be for the hatch lings down the road. I didn't get a good picture of the bottom of the tank, but there is 1 inch of gravel, and 2-3 inch of soil (screen in the middle of that) and there is also a heat mat that helps regulate the water depth. It would be more dense, but there isn't much humidity in there, so the plants grow, but grow sloooooow. But at least their growing :).

also i couldnt think of a way to get him some fruit, so I came up with this idea, and it seems to work fine. I since the picture, moved it to the other side of the cage and higher, he notices it now.

You may need to keep hatchlings in something a bit more gecko-tight. I understand that newly hatched lygos are small enough to run up an aquarium air line hose without squeezing.

yeah, I shouldve edited that post. There is a lot of open cracks in the exo-terra tank designs. In the front glass doors, there is spaces that a baby lygo could fit through. I will just use critter keepers. Or maybe some large glass jars. But that's further down the road.

Using a ZooMed cube with a properly attaching door (inspect before buying to make sure the door is installed evenly), and using little bits of screen carefully taped over the gaps where the clips are for the screen top, my hatchling Lygos stay inside. :) Even the tiny kimhowelli hatchlings.

I believe they would fit easily through the slats in a critter keeper lid, by the way. I once lost a baby house gecko that way, assuming it would not fit through, and I was wrong, lol.

I use the 'elevated magnetic mushroom feeding platforms' for adults, with the shallow cups the Pangaea now has. For the babies, I glued round magnets to bead cannister cups, and I also found that you can use the large replacement magnets for the mushroom platforms, along with the metal holders designed for the small disposable cups, to attach the metal holder high up in the tank. (You put the magnet over one side of the holder, and use the other side to hold a single disposable cup). My new hatchlings currently use this setup, and no accidental swims have occurred. :)

I always fill the little cups to the brim, so they do not have to lean in, in order to reach the CGD.
