Prebreeding behavior

Ok last year I attempted to breed my gecko's but my male ended up with a tumor in his ear and I ended up seperating him. Well I had cooled them for several months then slowly warmed them back up since they have been warmed, my male is barely eating but acting mostly ok. A few days not very active then back to normal then again back to inactive. I know it is not unusal for males to cut back on thier food intake but he is really not eating. I have force feed him a few times and he doesn't seem to mind it. I am so confused about this. Can some one give me thier take on this.

Many of my geckos are still not eating from the winter. Many times the male, especially if he senses the females won't eat for awhile. I have weights on my adult geckos from last June, height of breeding season, and also from October, when they were at the peak of eating for winter. In some cases there is a 20 gram difference. I find that most of my geckos are about the same weight now that they were last June.
