crested right choice?

Hey, I have been a member on here for awhile but haven't really been very active. I currently have two leo's, an armadillo lizard, and a bearded dragon. I was at a reptile show last month and LOVE the look of crested geckos. I was wondering if I could get some opinions on them and if you think they would be the right choice. I really don't want something that is super time consuming. Of coarse, I do put more than enough time into the animals I own. I don't buy and trade or whatever, I truly care about the animals I have. BUT with that being said I'm not looking into getting another lizard that needs to be bathed, held regularly, etc because I do spoil the crap out of my bearded dragon. I also don't want another lizard that requires expensive UVB bulbs bc I already have a few that I have to buy over the net every 6 months. I asked around at the show but seems most of the breeders tell you what you want to hear to make a quick sell. I can't find a good caresheet, so if someone could please post one that would be great. I have a 10 gallon, would that be efficient for these lizards? Are they rewarding to have? I looked into Tokays before but read a lot about them being aggressive, I don't want a snuggler but want something I can handle when needed. So.. suggestions? Thoughts? I for sure don't want to get something that isn't going to be a good fit because I get it, I want to be sure I'll give it a great healthy life until the very end.

Hi and welcome to the Crested Gecko section of the forum! I have lots of these little guys, and the only thing you might have a problem with is that it's hard to buy just one! They make wonderful pets. Just as you suggested, they don't need to be handled very often, but also don't mind it either. There are a few of my guys that I like to handle every day. They are so cute that I can't resist! LOL. You will love the gymastics that they perform while in their cages. If you buy one, they will thrive in a small cage such as a 10 gallon. Most folks will tell you that a taller cage is better, such as the exo-terras or zoo med styles. These geckos are arboreal, so they will love using the vertical space. You won't necissarily need a UV light. I keep them on my cages, but I also keep live plants in them. You will want to provide plenty of calcium supplements if you do not use a light, but this is the same with all reptiles, even if you have a UV light. You will have lots of fun picking one out. Some of the other Crested gecko keepers/breeders such as myself have websites that you can visit to see all of the different colors and patterns that crested geckos can be selectively bred for. Another fun site to visit is ACReptiles.com. Enjoy :D
