how to catch young juvenile geckos

Hello

I know this is a noob question but i have to pop it up :)
I don't handle my geckos only if I have to move them to other tank. My question is how can I catch them without damaging them? They are fast tree dweller geckos and run all the time. I had once a problem when I caught a gecko and she dropped her tail. I need advice how to catch them without stress and damage.
Now the way I do this: Remove all the objects from the tank and then put a towel on them and then i catch their body at their front legs.

Thanks in advance.

Especially if they can cling to walls, you could try to shoo them into a deli cup and then cover it with your hand. That way nothing has to actually touch them. That's what I did the time my gold dust day gecko got out of the cage.

Yep, deli cups and a bit of thin card stock is how I do it with my tiny geckos.

Some of the house geckos tend to get very tame if you raise them from hatchlings, H. mabouia in particular. But it is best to not go about grabbing them and I still extract them with the deli cups.
