Leopard Gecko Pee?

My leopard gecko peed in my hand while I was handling it. Is this because it is nervous?
I also heard that when leopard geckos are able to squirt they are ready to mate. Is this true

It was likely a defensive measure. Most animals don't want to eat something covered in urates.

My boyfriend calls one of my leo's R.Kelly because he is always peeing on him. Always him though, he won't pee on me. Haha, it is pretty funny.
