Pietschmanni Update...

Western Gecko

This morning I found the three cork bark geckos all sleeping within close proximity, which is a first, so I though I would share...

The treo. The two females are at the top and the male is at the bottom, with his nose in a hole.

The two females. The older one is above the younger one. I was concerned about the younger one as I hadn't observed her eating since acquired but last night she was out in the open where I could observe her. I was able to watch her fill her belly with crickets in a matter of 15 minutes so that's a load off my mind!

Thanks for looking...

Neither the less they are amazing, Would be great if you could get some eggs;)

Yeah, eggs would be a real kick but given the difficulty most keepers have had in producing these geckos in captivity, I'm not holding out much hope. I really didn't get these guys to breed anyway but if it happens I'll be tickled.

IMO pietschmanni are one of the coolest geckos going. They're just the right size, structurally well balanced and they're ultra cool to watch when you dim the lights!!
Over the last year I've had opportunities to acquire fimbriatus, guentheri, sikorea, lineatus, henkeli, phantasicus and ebenaui but these guys win hands down!
:yahoo:

Ya this gecko is hard to "crack" regarding getting them to breed rapidly.
So it's definatly not a gecko to get, if one is in it only for breeding. But the apereance and their behavior(the way the live), is very facinating to follow:) and I could imagen that it only can be topped by breeding them, and wacth them, closly as they grow;-)
