Ornata mite update

Heya.

A few weeks ago i was advised on here about ridding my orntata of the mites they came with. I tried the olive oil technique, but it caused my female to die of stress, and it did not kill all the mites on the male, so it it was a bit shit really. The male had still got three mites i could see, so i got him out and removed them manually using tweezers. I cannot see any more on him, so hopefully they are gone for good now. When i had him out, his colours fired up really bright so i took some pics.

Very nice one! Great colours! I think his tail is a bit thin, you could give him more to eat. Hope for you to find a new female soon!

Kind regards, Jan

Thank you. I find him very difficult to feed as he doesn't seem to like eating from a bowl/pot, and he is far too shy to come near me to tweezer feed, so i have to leave crickets in his viv for him to get. I think i will try to have another go with cup feeding.

Thanks guys! His colours don't seem as strong when he's in his viv for some reason.
