Hi guys.

The pair have been doing fine and i have not noticed any violence between them since i saw the male gently nip her tail once when he was displaying. The female has been eating fine and shedding fine and her toes were looking much better. I have not noticed either animal was particularly dominant over the other, and the female has been out and about a lot and wasn't showing stressed colouration or seem stressed. Her calcium supplies in her neck seemed fine and bulbous and she did not have any signs of mbd or having anything wrong with her. She was looking fit to burst with a clutch of eggs - i would think they were duds as i could see them starting to form in her belly when i introduced them (it looked like there may have been three? There tank had basking temps from 90-100F depending on how hot it was outside and ambient temps going down to maybe the low 70's near the bottom of the viv (maybe 85F near the top). Night time temps of the low 70's/high 60's. The had two 20W haalogen heat lamps a 5% uv tube and a 'daylight' tube so they had multiple basking spots. There was lots of bamboo and some plants for them to hide in (to see the updated viv, look near the bottom of the page on the first link). They were in a 40x40x60cm viv. I mist heavily once a day and humidity has been from 60-80% at the bottom of the viv.
Anyway, i'm really upset as today i went to mist the geckos and i discovered the female dead on the floor. She looks fit to burst with the eggs. She has no bite marks or scratches on her at all so i dont think the male did this. Her calcium reserves are still ok. She looks pretty fat from the eggs inside her. I fed her last a couple of days ago but she could have eaten since then as there are a few crickets loose in the viv. I haven't got a clue why she has sadly died. Can day geckos get egg bound as i'm thinking maybe if she did have three eggs in her stomach like possibly in the pics in the second link then they could have got stuck in her and killed her as they normally have two?
