Eye complication, shed skin or sick.

My leo had a hard time shedding her latest one completely so I have given her two baths. Than I noticed she is keeping her left eye closed. So I thought it must be unshedded skin still, but after taking a closer look at it. I noticed that the area around her eye is a little pale, and the eye itself is watery or mucasy(which ever). I cant tell if she is sick or not, because the rest of her body looks perfectly healthy other than some unshedded skin left on her toes.

So my question is should I wait it out and see if her eye gets any better or should I take her to the vet soon.

Flush it out, it's most likely an "eye cap" as they're called.

Their eye lids shed, even on the inside. When they pull off the shed the inner eye lid shed comes off. Occasionally it gets stuck, capping the eye. Mucus/watery eyes usually indicate something inside irritating it or an infection. An irritation can also turn into an infection.

If you can't get it out, take her to the vet and have it cleaned/examined by the vet.

Ok thank you, but how would I flush out her eye. I have never done it before so I just want to make sure I do it right without damaging her eye.

Get a bottle of saline and rinse it. The nozzle on the saline (like $2 at the store) will be small so when you squeeze it should come out in a small stream. Just got to make sure you get a good grip on your girlie. If you can't do it, then do take her to the vet to have it done.
