Leos are naturally very curious and since they are nocturnal he will do most of his adventuring at night. As long as he doesn't develop any signs of him being unhealthy he will be just fine

Same Here!

LOL. How old is yours? Mine started doing exactly that (crawling on the walls, climbing up on our hands so he can sit) when he was about 4 months old. Maybe they've got similar genetics. ;). I actually went so far as to get mine one of those Zilla turtle ramps (the solid ones that have a hidey hole underneath) for him to climb around on, and he loves it!

Also, I don't know about the eating habits of your gecko, but I know sometimes mine will eat upwards of 15-20 crickets a night and be good for the next 3-4 days, even though he regularly defecates daily.

My one leo does that far more than my other...Desi is always climbing the glass or somehow managing to get on top of pieces of wood. Pretty entertaining to watch them at night.

he might be trying to find a cooler spot or moist spot. move ur water bowl.

hes not digging round the water bowl. Hes just flinging dirt into it, Not doing it on purpose, just where he is digging is throwing it into the water...

so by moving it to a place where he isnt flinging dirt would solve the problem. and why is he on dirt.

I meant Sand SOrry.. Dont know why i said dirt.. I have moved it also, He digs all ove the place and no matter where its at he diggs and gets water in it.

Why not break up some slate and cover 1/2 the tank (warm side) with it on top of the sand, and placing the bowl on the slate in a far corner? so he has like... a sand box/digging box, but still has clean water. So you'll meat his need of digging, but still keep the water clean.

First thing first: if you're taking your gecko out that often, you should propably reduce handling to a minimum of what is necessary. That might get him to eat more, since taking out a gecko always stresses them, no matter if they show it at the same time or not.
Second thing is: you should not keep him on sand only, it's bad for their ankles and the avoid loose sand in the wild as well. Try to get some bricked earth powder, you can mix it with the sand (4 or 5 parts sand, 1 part bricked earth), fill it in the tank while it's still wet and wait for it to dry. It get's pretty hard, sometimes they still can dig in it, and it doesn't get thrown around that much. It's a better way to build a more natural environment.

Other than that, could you show us some pictures of your enclosure? I'm curious to see how your geckos tank looks like.

Fabrizio

Well, I can tell from not even opening those pictures, that this is definitely NOT enough stuff for your gecko. There should at least be one or two more hides, a moist hide, tight places for him to hide in and some stuff to climb on. Only a hide and a water bowl, that's not how an animal should be kept. Our responsibility is to try to replace their natural habitat, but not with something as sterile as that is. You could try to make your gecko a background wall out of styrofoam and tile adhesive. It gives a natural look and you can give your gecko the ability to climb and hide in tight holes.
If you need further information on this, I can gladly give you some help with it. It's not expensive at all.

yours,
Fabrizio
