Do you keep her tank lit during the day? Sometimes they can fire if exposed to light.

Here's a pic of my Tosca half-fired, I think she was responding to the light and/or humidity difference after spraying.

no, they dont have a light but it could have been something like that... i've just never seen her or any of my others do that before. your looks kinda cool like that. to bad there arent one's who are always like that.

Is her cage near a window?

My cresties will get VERY dark, even when they're sleeping, when there's a good amount of natural light coming through the window. (Not in direct sunlight, mind you)

I think its the geckos' way of absorbing heat from the sun more efficiently, since darker colors absorb more light.

Daytime firing

Mine do the same thing but are more evenly colored. I was just telling someone the other day taking good pictures is difficult because you never know when they will be colored up. Nightime is usually best and spraying them down usually colors them up too. I think it's mostly a mood thing.
