Fat/Calcium Sacks

So what is the verdict on the fatty/calcium sacks behind the leos front legs. I'm kinda of confused if they are good or bad. It more or less seems to be more specific to the leo rather than the diet. I have heard it is both signs of a healthy leo and signs of a leo in need of a diet. Just curious to hear some input, thanks guys.

none of mine have those, but I know they get the calcium they need. One female I have is obese and is going on a diet. From what I can tell, some geckos get them and some dont.

It depends who you ask what the cause/risks are. I have a skinny super snow tremper with them, a fat tangerine snow with them, and a fat tangerine snow without them. My fat geckos are on a diet. I've been sick making it not possible to handle them often, my collections put on a few grams the last month. Lol.

WHen you say yor geckos will be on a diet, what you give or what you do to them to be on a diet?

Just limit their food intake, and exercise them. Nothing special. When a gecko isn't moving around a lot of course it'll become unhealthy. Just like us humans. Lazy people are fat and have weak muscles. I take my geckos out to exercise whenever I can. If I don't, like this last month I've been in and out of the hospital, they gain weight from lack of calories being burned.

And let them do some exercises can be just a walk on the floor, something like this?
Haha, i will put them on a treadmill.

I wish they had treadmills, Phinley greatly needs it. Lol! I just set them on the living room floor and watch them run around.

My geckos have it too, I think, and they're doing great. I don't know if it's good or bad, but if you're really, really concerned, you should take him/her to an herp vet.

Okay, I was looking at the back legs, not the front, but mine have pits in the front and small bulges(they're probably just males, but no pre anal pores). The pits aren't mite pits, or both of my geckos would be dead. Don't worry.

I don´t know how to put photos here. I will try to put it later and you will see how it´s going.

When you reply/respond, scroll down to where it says manage attachments, click, then browse your computer til you get the pictures you want, open it, then upload it to the board, and finally submit reply. I hope that helps.

That's why I have my geckos in a pretty big enclosure: a 55-gallon tank for my (as of this morning) 7 adults. They have plenty of room to exercise and run around, and I have tons of hides and sticks and rocks for them to climb in/on. My geckos have sort of indents behind their front legs (I don't know if they'd be considered pits) I think it's comparable to a human armpit, and it's silly to expect all leos to be built the same when we people clearly aren't.
