does the moss get moldy what do you clean it with and what type of moss, and is it misted daily? Should it be on the cooler side or the hot side?

i just got some after my last post it says to clean put back in water and swirl moss around in water and then remove and wring out as dry as bossible. repeat this with new water 2 to 3 times. and then it says the moss should be replaced after the 3 or 4 cleanings. and it said to put water in a tub and put the moss in and squess it in the water and then take it out and wring it out, and leave about 15 to 20% of water in it. but im only saying what the box said. and the wet hid needs to be on the hot side so the water can make the humidty in the hid.

Well I change it out after a few days and put a new batch in after letting it soak in water then squeezing out some of the water before putting it back in. And I keep it on the cooler side, help keeps the moss from drying out than if it was on the warm side.

Leopard geckos don't tend to just randomly go around eating substrate all the time like some will have you believe. Otherwise they wouldn't survive in the wild for very long. I use a mix of peat and usually some perlite for humid hide.

I use moist scrunched up paper towls inside of a plastic container that I mist as well. Its where my gecko usually drinks too she rarely goes to the water dish.

i tried using terrarium moss from petco and my gecko hated it, but i used paper towels and he didnt mind them at all. i guess it was the smell of the moss.

Hiya, I use sphagnum moss and wet it evryday as like you say it dries out on the heated side, but I have to check it before I remove it from the viv as sneeky little crickets hide in it lol!! has anyone any info on whether or not to feed grass hoppers and how? I got a tub of really small ones and I'm having a job and a half keeping them under control!
