Pricing on Moonglows?

I think this is the right place to post this... if not, let me know and the thread shall be moved!

I've been wanting a Moonglow Crested for a while - I love how they look! However, I hear that they are quite expensive. I've looked at Reptile Expo booths, but nobody has a Moonglow. Can sombody give me some pricing info, and maybe tell me where I might get one of these pretty citters?

Moonglows "technically" don't exist to most people. The reason is that they are supposed to be the lightest (preferably almost fully white) crested geckos possible. Very light geckos are rare beyond belief to begin with, and most of them fire up a different color. I have one that is so light during the day, but turns yellow at night. There are thousands of them out there that do the same thing, yet people consider them "moonglows".

It's a fancy term that people throw around, but there are only a handful of examples that I have ever seen that even come close to being the coined "moonglow".

If someone were to produce a great line of crested geckos that stayed light at all times, then I might be convinced, and they'd be onto a great project. I'd guess that a true moonglow would fetch a good price...somewhere in the $400-$600 range. One was sold not too long ago as a moonglow (it wasn't) for $400.00. Definitely not worth it when most of them end up being buckskins that just look lighter.

I have heard a lot of breeders refer to their Geckos as Moonglows, but when I looked they were just common buckskins or yellows. Very disappointing - I was beginning to wonder if true Moonglows did actually exist. XD

There is the original animal in question pictured in the Robbie Hamper book. If someone knows Robbie or has any info on that animal, it may shed light on that one animal being an anomaly or possibly being bred somewhere.

That's where I first heard of Moonglows, yeah. It would be awesome is that Gecko was being bred somwhere. I don't think I could afford the babies, though. XD
