Klemmeri Brawl

so this morning I came down to check out the viv as I am want to do and was horrified to see one of my female klemmeri dangling another from the bamboo by her neck! I broke it up and they kept fighting so I caught one and put her in a critter keeper for my work day. I got home and tried letting her back in. Same deal, both were displaying all over the place with tongue flicking and showing their backs to eachother and they started fighting again almost immediately.

For the past few months it's kinda seemed like a dominant female was emerging. She's got brighter colors and has been knocked up twice while the other's only been gravid once in the few months I've had them. Interestingly it was the more submissive girl doing all the fighting today. Usually it would end with the dominant one chasing the other around for a few seconds and they'd settle in to their spots and that would be the end of it. I guess today the bullied girl just snapped like Ralphie in A Christmas Story. Set up an extra exo I had lying around that I'll make all nice and pretty some time in the near future.

Who's had this happen? Is this the end of my trio?

Also, Preston, are the girls sisters? Was wondering if i'd be able to breed a male from one of the two clutches I have cooking from the other female to the one I removed.

There really is no easy answer on this one.Of the klemmeri that I have kept I have kept multiple females with one male and there has been no problem.Interestingly only the dominant female laid eggs.
I mistakingly had two males together for a time without any problems. Then again I have a male in solitary confinement as he has killed two females.
It really depends on the individuals involved .Have they all just reached sexual maturity?
Personally I would split them and try to get a new male to create two pairs.

Might be the end...might work again later. The onset of egg laying seems to cause tensions sometimes between females (poss competition over future egg laying sites?). It also appears that increasing the numbers of females can help reduce aggression, so instead of 1:2 try 1:4 or 1:5 when you've bred more. The downside can be that only one or two of the females breed successfully even though there's no overt aggression. Some klemmeri individuals can be just as aggressive as other species although it's fair to say that this is generally a more relaxed species.

i keep klemmeri in 4.10 and get eggs regulary from multiple females. not all of them, i would say about 6 to 7 females that produces eggs for me.

i have a tank with the size : 80x40x80 cm.

"bullied girl just snapped like Ralphie in A Christmas Story"
Ha ha I like this description although the situation is not great.
They are sisters/cousins. Interesting that they we getting along and both had laid for you. Given the tank space they should have enough room. As all have said things can change quickly. Have you been turning back the light hours in prep for winter? When there hormones calm down they might be ok. Or stack on the girls like Jeroen :) I have had that work as well 1.5
