Glove

...figure i should share a little about myself with the new forum.

Glove is a nickname given to me years ago, it has stuck and I carried it over to forums.
Im 36.
I have been an aqaurium person all my life. When I was very young I had a gardener (garter?) snake that loved to ride on my bicycle brake cable with his head in the wind.
I also had a black rat snake that was wild caught sunning its-self from one side of a two lane road to the other.
I have also kept turtles, anoles, newts, frogs, fish, rabbits, raccoons, ferrets...dogs, cats....
I think that is common for most boys (and some girls ;-) ).
Sometime about 1989ish I wanted to do more than the normal fish in a glass box and thats when I became addicted to saltwater. Its been a great hobby and I dont see any stopping anytime soon.
Right now we have

a 180gallon reef that has went through some changes over the years

a small 7 gallon zoanthid garden that is about a year in the works

and I just brought a 70gallon home to hold the clowns and nemone.
(pictures later if you care)
There is also Rico, a wolferman pincher

and now the gecko

In my adventures to local shops for msc supplies and corals I noticed a day gecko and I was captivated by the colors and the personality of this lil green gal.
She never had been for sale, just a display in the shop. I cant remember how many years I have seen this gecko in there, always happy and healthy and such a charmer. I dont think it was just me, but everytime I went to check her out she would jump over and greet me, tilting her head and looking me over.
(I need to ask the owner how long they have had her, I keep forgetting)

One day I was in there and they had her for sale.
I grabbed the gecko book from the shelf but there wasnt anything about that gecko. I waited till I could do a little reading and found they are pretty common and not terribly troubling to keep.
Needless to say, here I am!
I already feel like I want to find her a mate. I like things in pairs if possible, like my clownfish and anemone. I have had this pair for 4+ years, the male and the nem are even older.
I think pairing helps in captivity, -'sometimes'.
I feel like at least they have companionship. If kept animals will benifit, I will attempt it.

So thats a little about me and a lot more than I thought I was going to say.
Looking forward to being a gecko keeper for as long the old girl will hang out, in the meantime, I will continue to better educate myself about these critters, study a little more on building a viv., and to be an active member even if I dont have a lot of exp.
Thanks for having me.
