Well cared for geckos.I used to have borbornicas in the 80's.Hardly ever produced any males no matter what temp.I use.Even large day and nightime shifts.the guimbeaui is outstanding. Is he wildcaught? As he colors are very nice not faded. If you produce them please keep me in mind for a trio or quartet.

Regards
Albert

hey, your geckos are very beautiful! I have a question for you... in the last picture with your P guimbeaui I see what appears to be one of those "puck" lights. is it a halogen? whats your success with those? i've bought them a few different times and it always seems like the bulbs blow out extremely fast which is frustrating as hell. just wondering so if others are having better luck or not. thanks

I use puck lights on all my tanks. I have found that if its not set on a simple dimmer and turned down. The bulbs will blow out quickly. A thermostate that causes the light to turn on and off will also blow it out quickly. I have 6 lights that have been running for about 6 months+

do you have a rough idea on how much you turn them down(1/4, 1/2, 3/4)? maybe I havent looked at the puck lights in enough detail but i've had them in 10W and 20W bulbs...which isn't a whole lot of heat. if i buy more i'll definately try the dimmer out

Mine get very hott if I have them on all the way. I turn them down about half. And it gets it down to a 85-90F basking spot,

luckily guimbeaui is much easier to get than rosagularis.
although...............you'll never know.

@ lodewijk.
make sure you keep the male alive. you won't have anything to show anymore if that one dies.........just a reminder.

Another beautiful picture! I do realise that they are virtually impossible to obtain, but I have a long life ahead of me (hopefully lol) so fingers crossed that one day will be lucky enough to own some (unlikely I know, but one can dream  ). I would love to get some guimbeaui in the next few years but I may have to stop keeping phelsuma for a bit when I go to uni. Still though, guimbeauis and Rosas are hands down my all time favourite phelsuma. You've gotta love that chubby look they have!
