Help with squirt

My gecko, Squirt, has recently been acting wierd. He/she (she i think) will not eat regularly, and when she does eat it is only a little bit. She wont poop for two days but then will poop and it will be a larger pile than usual, but it looks normal and everything in it is digested. She usually poops once every night. She does not throw up or anything, but seems less active and does not want to eat as much. Could this be an issue with my heating? I recently put a thermometer in and the hot side of the tank is only around 80 degrees fahrenheit. I thought that maybe something in the tank was stressing her out so i rearranged it and she seems to be somewhat more active after this. I do not see the overhead lighting as a good way to heat the tank. Would getting a UTH help? do i need a thermostat with one? where do i get a thermostat and how is it installed with the UTH?

also, squirt is kept on paper towels in a 20 gallon long tank with three hides, one on hot side, one on cool side, and one in the middle. given crickets with calcium dust without d3 every day and vitamin powder with d3 once a week. calcium without d3 dish kept in tank always.

how old is your leopard gecko? usually juveniles eat everyday and adult will eat every other day. on the hot side it should be 90 to 95 degrees. Leos also heat them selfs up with belly heat so you should use a under tank heater if you get the right size you do not really need a thermostat with it of course safe is always good. Also different leos eat at different times. hope everything works out for you good luck
