Odd question... never thought about it... It probably does. We probably can't smell it because it's such a small amount, but it's enough for geckos to smell.

When you put a male in another male's enclosure (such as when I'm cleaning cages and I place a male in a container that another male as been in), they get aggressive, wagging their tails, and marking their "territory". I'd assume he could smell the other male in there. Same goes for breeding. When I want a female to ovulate I take the paper towel floor from my male of choice's cage and place it in with the female(s). Again, I'd have to assume they can smell the male, because a couple days later they start to ovulate.

I have a few geckos who reek and most don't have an odor. Whenever I go to clean Ephram or Arlington's cage I have to give a warning to my roommate. For some reason they're just stinky.
