Purchasing a new gecko

I am looking to purchase a new gecko and cannot decide between a Bell Albino from Geckosetc.com and a mack snow bell albino from tangerinegecko.com. The only thing thats pushing me towards the first is that the second is nearly two years old already. Considering geckos can live up to 20+ years if well taken care of.. should i let the age of it deter me from purchasing it?

I think if it's not too old then it doesn't really matter. whatever one looks to be in better health would be my choice. i would look at the website reviews and use those to help you decide. hope to see pics in the future!

I would say if its strictly a pet, than get whichever u like the most. I was searching craigslist for a roach colony and ended up finding someone rehoming 2 leos right down the road, so i may buy 2 more, which would put me up to 5

Steve (Geckos Etc.)has some nice animals, and since he's been in the community for a while his animals are priced a bit higher than what you'd find anywhere. On the plus side he's easy to deal with and super friendly. I personally haven't dealt with Nancy so I can't give my opinion on their business. Age shouldn't be a factor at all since they're young.

With a young gecko you'll be dealing with a jumpy, more scared gecko. The older the gecko the more calm and used to handling. Nancy is smaller than Steve. Steve has thousands of animals. IMO I'd get a pet from a smaller breeder rather than a bigger breeder mainly for the one on one contact between breeder and gecko.

Either would be nice.
I've got a Bell Albino, but I'd like a Mack Snow as well.

Don't worry about age. IMHO bigger/older Leos are much more laid back and fun. ;)

The only reason i would prefer a younger gecko is that they may be able to adapt better than the older one. I bought one that was about a year old and it took a little while longer than it would a juvie.

From my experience adults adapt with less stress. A smaller gecko will stress out more, and is easier to startle than an adult. Plus shipping a gecko is stressful in itself... I give my adults shipped in a week of no handling to settle in, then start offering them food. After a couple weeks I can handle them with no problems.
