Swollen Hemipenes.

Ok, so one of my geckos has both of his hemipenes swollen and the other one only has one that is slightly so. Both of these are males. They really don't to be bothering them. Could it be something to do with breeding or anything? they are both of mature age?

Don't know. Any chance for infection? What substrate?

Shouldn't be an infection or anything. They are on repticarpet though. Could it possibly be irritating them? I have the female on a vinyl tile type thing. They have pooped recently and the one male is now starting to eat again.

I wonder whether it could be irritation from the reptile carpet? Easy to try paper towels to troubleshoot that. Could be, umm-mm-m, that they are REALLY ready to mate ;-)?
