Hi ill tell you the b/g before i tell you my problem. I have 2 geckos and previously had 2 tanks 1 is a female leo gecko and 1 a male fat tailed gecko, we decided to stick them in the same tank but would split it in 2 this means they would have 2ft x 1ft of floor space each, This we split with a piece of perspex, they have been quite happy like this for about 6 months now ( we had to put the perspex in between as last time we put them in together she was flickin him with her tail and he ...didnt bite her but put his mouth round her tail as if you scare her and dominate her) Anyway a couple of weeks ago we noticed cadbury had climbed over into gex's (leo gecko) bed and we found him laying on top oif her rock bed, she was laying inside her rock bed...we put him back in as he has never been a climber and pretty lazy in fact. However we later noticed he was back in there, We decided to move one of his logs so that he could not climb over again hbowever i have realised this morning that he once again somehow managed to climb over... Does anyone know why he would be doing this without them fighting, although they will not be laying near each other they do not seem to fight. thankyou for any help

He may be trying to mate with her. Most of the time geckos aren't trying to mate every minute, and you don't know what's going on when you're asleep. It's possible for a leopard gecko/fat tail gecko to produce eggs but I don't think they'd be viable. In general, fat tail geckos need more humidity than leopard geckos so even if you can keep them apart, they'd do better in completely separate enclosures.

Good luck,

Aliza
