other question i have had my leopard geckos for about 2 weeks now and i was wondering since they eat and sometimes from my hand and the feeding tongs can i begin to try and hold them and for how long?

one of my leos(snow) is sleeping alot even at night is that bad or is he.she. waiting for me to sleep?

4.
having trouble sticking to schedule so should i feed them in the morning or at night when the lights are to moon bulb?

Hey pather. No problem getting on the site, there really isn't much there to I don't know if it's fully functional or not. My only suggestion would be to modify the theme a little. When I first opened the site it looked like a squatter page.

As for the handling geckos, you really have to gauge on how they feel before you attempt to pick them up. Get them used to your hands first. Try touching them on their backs (not their tail though), sides or lightly on the top of their heads. If they are pulling away from you or running away they're still wary. If they allow it or like it, then you can start handling them. You can do this one a day, they will eventually get used to you. Feeding them a meal worm by hand will help as well.

As long as they have a nice fat tail I wouldn't be too concerned about it. Our girl went through 2 weeks where she was mainly sleeping and didn't seem to interested in food.

As for feeding I usually do it first thing at night, usually when the sun is setting or just after. Leopard geckos are nocturnal so their natural inclination would be to feed at night.

thanks and okay ill start to feed them meals worms by hand.
but should i take out the meal worm dish?
I had around 16 and the next morning 10-12 had gone missing lol.
4 died or rotted. and 2 were all that remained.

To add to the above post...
Handling should be taken extremely slow. Put your hand in the tank, don't touch them at first. Let them just get used to your scent. They'll come up to you when they're good and ready. Being so small handling shouldn't be done anyway. Same with feeding, stick to a dish or the tongs. Don't actually use your fingers or they'll associate you with food, then bite you instead of climbing on your hand to inspect you.

Pretty much. She's always been fed with the tongs, but she sees my hand holding them. Now I can't put my hand anywhere near her face or she jumps to bite. Since her little food association I only use tongs to put roaches and worms into their food dishes, otherwise I don't use tongs.
