Substrate for uros

Did a search but couldnt find anything specific and now the baby is crying so I apologize if this is a repeat. What substrate does everyone use? If you could also mention what species you have and issues with that substrate it would be great. Thanks.

For my phants i got a mix of ecoearth, peat moss and other mosses.

No risk for impaction.

I agree with Mallick + top substrate is covered with a certain amount of oak leaves. On such a substrate, I keep all kinds of Uroplatus.

I use something like eco-earth but the last brick I used expanded normally and I let it sit for a bit to dry. For some reason its really loose and my plants are not doing so well. I still mist like I did before and never had problems till now. Im gonna have to change it but thought about something new like Jungle Bed ( anyone ever used it? I used for other herps. Has a mix of play sand, vermiculite, soil, and peat moss. The play sand and vermiculite are the only things that bothered me) or just trying my own mix.

I have always used eco-earth and never had any problems with it. I keep Henkeli.

I use eco-earth for my U. phantasticus and I had put a little bit of spagnum on top but I think I am going to remove the spagnum. Today I found a piece of what looks like reguritated spagnum at the top of the tank. I can't be 100% positive it's not just a stray piece that got stuck up near the top of the enclosure when I sprinkled the spagnum in there, but I don't want to take any chances. It has a slimy consistency like it was vomited and I really think it might have been swollowed along with a cricket. Anyone else had any of their Uro's eat a piece of spagnum? I'm talking about the spagnum moss they use for orchids. I'm also going to add some dried/sterilized oak leaves on the bottom. I'm interested in other opinions about the spagnum moss...

I use a mixture of pure not fertilized spagnum mixed 50-50 with orchid bark/orchid soil. The substrate gets natually covered with ficus leafs. The plants (ficus and pothos) are doing great in it. They are actually become a "problem" because it seems like I have to cut them back every other month(but a luxury problem). When I trim the plants, Ill let half of the cuts aorund on the substrate. (food for springtails) and the leafs get to dry up, and make a little leaf pile. also the sticks thats left, looks neat un the viv floor.

I also use springtails in the viv, and are going to add some woodlice in.

I use a drainage layer of hydroton covered by a mix of cocofiber, peat moss, and a bit of milled sphagnum. I cover this with piles of leaf litter that are used as laying sites. I also keep earthworms, springtails and isopods in the cages as cleanup crews. Plants do great. I keep henkeli and fimbriatus.

Ficus trees are a pretty common house plant. Most nurseries should have them, even places like Home Depot usually do.
