How My Gecko Plays Tricks on Me
Felt like sharing because I thought this was funny.
Just a bit of info.- I'm currently a college student who lives in a dorm with a roommate and my gargoyle gecko, Phoebe. Phoebe's tank is right by my bed where I lay my head. Next to the little desk she is on I keep a small stack of boxes.
So I'm laying in bed trying to fall asleep when right as I start to drift off I hear a noise- a scurrying type noise- seeming to come from the boxes on the ground. I live in a dorm in FL so my first thought is, "Ohhh jeebus, please don't be a roach.." [I am DEATHLY afraid of roaches and my roommate is gone.] Now I'm fully awake, listening for another sign of movement...
Squish squish
...This time they were more like little steps on cardboard. "There's a rat in the room?!" I'm not afraid of rats but that does NOT mean I want a wild one in my room. Now I'm a bit nervous...
Squish. Squish. SQUISH SQUISH SQUISH.
Now they sound like they're getting closer.
Squish. Squish. THUMP! :yikes: "AAAHHH!!!"
I shoot up, turn the light on my phone, look over and see...
The sound I heard was little gecko feet climbing the fake rock background, and the thump was Phoebe jumping onto the the screen lid. :coverlaugh:
At least my room is roach and rat free! :yahoo: lol
