Hello i'm new to the forums.
I have a 5 year old leopard gecko which was very sick when i got her from petco.. she was being bullied by the other gecko's when i reached in against petco wishes and grabbed her up..

I knew nothing about leopard geckos and i was only 14 at the time she was bought she has lived in a 10 gallon tank with calcium sand a water dish and a hide place.

I am here because myself and my husband wants to learn how to take care of this little girl a lot better as i want her to live a long life. I have already learned about a moist hide box and I'm making one and lucky enough the she lives in stays between 80 and 90 degrees year round.

Hello lola92 ~

A hearty welcome to Geckos Unlimited!

Nice that you recognized when you were just 14 that this leo was being bullied. Thanks for rescuing her. Here is the info I give to folks looking for leo advice: http://www.geckosunlimited.com/comm...pard-gecko-care-recommendations-nutshell.html

Leos can live into their 20s when cared for properly.

I would recommend removing the calcisand. It can be bad news. Leos can actually become impacted on calcisand. For the time being you could keep her on paper towels. Please read my care sheet for other recommendations.

Welcome to GU. This is a great place to learn and if you go to the home page there's a care sheet for leos that's a good read. Hopefully more owners will post who have more experience than me but the best of luck to you and your girl :)
