Fogger vs Mister

My son and I have a 5 week old crestie. I just put him in the 10gallon tank with all kinds of good stuff. It appears fine for now and I mist it with a sprayer. When he is about 6 months old I want to put him in an exo terra 18x18x24. I think it will be easier to have an automatic mister. Some are way expensive though, but I dont plan on making one either! What brands of foggers or mister do you use? Which ones do you like and which ones breakdown?! I am thinking I'd like a waterfall for drinking but would still have to spray with that for humidity. Any thoughts?

Ok first waterfalls arent good for drinking because they make the water fairly hot. I personally wouldnt waste money on fogger or mister. Just use a spray bottle with distilled water and spray tank once a day in the evening.

If you get a waterfall you'll need to make sure to clean it regularly- perhaps weekly or more, especially since geckos like to poop in their water for whatever reason.

Mist King is the brand mister I always hear the best things about.

I know some people who have misters set on timers to go off once or twice a day and love them.

I personally like misting by hand every evening, since that's when I check up on all the geckos anyways. I only have to mist once a day to keep my humidity cycle going.

Thanks for your replies! Power was out for days, couldn't get on forum sooner!! I do like misting the cage myself but want to check into the options suggested!

Yes they can be. Everything has it's advantage and disadvantages.

Most Reptiles do no drink from Running Water so usually they will not drink directly from a waterfall.
Animals can drown in moving water

Ideas to increase humidity is as simple as an Air Exchanger or a air line run into a small shallow reservoir of water inside the tank. This also increases air exchange.
Plants and moist soil will increase humidity also

I recommend both a Fogger and a Mister
Think nature..When it Rains there are dry spots..and when it fogs it gets everything Moist..Your Animal might need a moist hide but if you just Mist then the Hide might actually be dry inside..

And I recommend a Digital Timer power strip..Automated lights are great also
