Gizmo was my one and only gecko. He passes away last Thursday due to an infection that spread through the bloodstream to his joints, making it a task for him to even walk across his tank. We brought him to the vet again and again, adding medication after medication, but it was no use. He was too sick. He was in pain and I saw the afternoon after our last vet visit that the fight had left him and he had given up. And I accepted it. Later that night, I found him curled up in the corner, hopefully sleeping when it happened. He was a great lil guy, full of attitude and full of fight. He bit, pooped, threw up and hissed at the vet, even when he had a tough time walking. He never gave up until it was too late. The vet said he was a rare case, more susceptible to disease than a normal gecko. He would have turned 3 years old today, September 28th. He was a gorgeous SHTCTB whom I had since he was exactly one month old. I remember bringing him home, learning so much and adapting to life with him. Now, I’m trying to adapt to life without the every other day feedings, the tile cleanings and the times I took him out and had him sit on my shoulder pushed up against my neck for warmth while I sat and read my book. I miss him so, so much. He was my little man
I won’t let him just be forgotten, so here are some pictures of him and his great attitude towards life.
