Hello all. So i have been very disapointed with my pet stores lack of healthy crickets and mealworms. I would like to know what online sites you may be utilizing that provide best price and best quality of food for my little one.

THANK YOU :)

I buy from ghanns cricket farm, they were on dirty jobs on discovery Channel so I got to see they're whole facility on tv and its legit, they have a guy that sits and counts crickets all day to quality check.

If you only have 1 gecko, you can really only order in bulk from the online places. My favorite cricket place has a 1000 minimum for $22.60 shipped. As the thousands increase, the price per thousand decreases.

The best thing that you could do for you and your gecko is to get some tropical roaches and start raising them yourself (dubia and lateralis being the two most popular). You'll have a never ending supply of fresh, healthy, well fed prey without the hassle of having to go to the pet store all the time or having to deal with ordering/shipping them, etc.

Since the OP is in Florida, I don't know if that's possible (i.e. legal).

just because the OP is in Florida there are still other roach species that he could raise B. discoidalis are legal in florida and i'm pretty sure Pycnoscelus surinamensis is too

edit: forgot Eurycotis floridana (Florida Skunk Roach) are also native and thay would probably make a decent feeder roach

Where can I find a good resource for breeding these roaches? And are they better for our leo? Buying crickets from the pet store is expensive and inconvenient. I just ordered crickets online so we'll see how that works out. With just one leo I'm not sure it's any more cost effective. My other complaint is crickets smell even in small quantities and the pet carrier is cleaned every 4-5 days and dead are removed. Where do I find or buy these roaches? Also do they smell and is their care easier, longer life span? Lots of questions
