He said a necropsy would be pointless due to the fact i wasnt going to pay the three figure amount to send out samples when he thought it was an isolated incident. They were fed separate but from the same batch of crickets. He said that just like people we all come across bacteria, etc but sometimes our immune system cant fight it off like it should, and he believes thats what happened. I am suppose to bring back a stool sample, but considering how quickly she died, and how the other one is not showing any symptoms is why he believes she will be alright. Basically he got onto some sort of reptile veterinarian website where they review different cases and him a few other vets on there believe it was an infection. Maybe he didnt want it because it was over the 24 hours before I could bring him the body? I'm not sure what the case is, I just know I feel confident and better about Pedros health, and dont think hes at risk for anything as of right now. I'll be taking a fecal sample in as a precaution, but they were previously checked and cleared.

Does he specialize in reptiles? Did she have strong smelling feces, runny or discolored feces prior? I am sorry for all the questions. I am just trying to make sense of it all. What's most important now is Pedro is doing well. His feces will more than likely come back fine, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. :)

Yes, he specializes in reptiles. He's one of the few in KC that are highly recommended. Stool was always normal and never smelly, so I never questioned it. I still wish I knew the whole truth about what happened, but sometimes things happen, and since I can't change the past I'm going to focus on the right now and future and try and prevent any of this happening to any of my other lizards. Pedro ate tonight and seems to be doing alright. He does seem "lost" sometimes on his own, but since he ate I'm hoping he'll recover from the stress of all of this soon. Thanks again for everything, and I'm just glad I got some good news since Pedro checked out clear physically at the doctor, and then ate for me tonight.
