The vet does not want to treat blindly without identifying the parasite. Unfortunately the vet is unaware of the gecko's body condition and how long it's been without seeing the gecko. That's why it is always best not to wait until problems occur and instead develop a relationship with your first reptiles vet in which you can depend on.
