I have a young Leopard Gecko and im not sure what sex it is.Im thinking about getting another Leopard Gecko so if its a male i dont want to end up placing another male in the same cage! How can i tell what sex it is??:?:?
A male will have two hemipenal bulges at the base of its tale as well as Femoral Pores on the underside of their thigh and more noticeable V-Shaped Preanal Pores On there belly between their back legs. The biggest give away is the hemipenal bulges. But if your gecko is really young you will not be able to sex it yet.I have a young Leopard Gecko and im not sure what sex it is.Im thinking about getting another Leopard Gecko so if its a male i dont want to end up placing another male in the same cage! How can i tell what sex it is??:?:?
please do not co-habitate your geckos unless they are fully adult, and a male/female pair only if you intend to breed them and are prepared for offspring.
often times, geckos will breed before they are mature enough to physically handle the strain (in particular the female) and it can have poor health consequences on both the geckos and the offspring. also, it's pretty much impossible to keep them from breeding if they're in the same cage; geckos are pretty lusty!
Actually, my mother used to rescue leopard geckos and she had 2 young female leopard geckos together in the same cage. They did perfectly fine. But thank you for the info![]()
Should female Leo's eventually be bred? I read that they can become egg bound?
