Caught my Tokay lapping water out of the dish

I'm glad I've been cleaning the water dish everyday, because I finally spotted my Tokay lapping water from it. He was doing it off and on for like 10 minutes last night. I got a video but it is super grainy and crappy.

Has anyone else seen their Tokay do this?

well if you haven't, it is extremely cute.

Tokay drinking

I have water bowl in the bottom of my cage and I've never seen him drink out of it. I have a security camera ( IR with motion sensor ) set up to watch the water bowl and haven't caught him once yet. I mist his cage a couple times each night and during the day. I even mist the glass right up to an inch from his head. I come back an hour later and do it again and he is still in the same spot without any sign of even moved. If I spray his nose a little he gets annoyed. I don't know what he is doing for water.

I had no hint whatsoever that my gecko was using the dish until I saw him. I'm really glad I've been changing the water in it every day just in case.

I have an adult male that drinks pretty consistantly out of his dish. Never seen any of my other 5 do it however.

Just a thought... as when I did use dishes I never saw mine drinking out of them. But when I did see one cage in particular drinking out of the dish a lot it was due to my humidity being off.
That was in my particularly early days to keeping toks. Normally they don't like to come to the ground for much beyond food. Mostly I see mine drinking in the morning when I do my heavy spraying. Even then though it's not a common occurance I see for everyone.
