OWCH Omg Cricket!! He must have been PISSED. lol.

But I am hearing them launch themselves at the glass periodically too.
I Think I am going to separate the cages so they dont even look at each other as I can bet it hurts banging your nose against glass.

Move the cages so that they can't see each other. They can end up with rostral abrasions.

I did put some construction paper inbetween the two so now they can't see each other. Xena is still leaping at the glass to bite me when i walk past!! I have a large order of silk worms and a small batch of butterworms on the way to me and plan to increase their food.

I should have known you would panic. Do I believe this, yes. However, cresties have thinner rostral skin than leopard geckos. It appears they can be a bit hard to digest and so why I said try one and see if they can digest it properly. I am not suggesting that you do feed them or not to. Maybe ask if anyone with leo's feed them and if anyone has had a problem recently?

LOL! I am the master of panic it seems lol.
They are the medium sized ones and they are only $2.00. So basically the worm juices caused this?? crazy! I wonder if I could feed them my turtles instead? if not I have no problem flushing the 2 dollar worms down the toilet lol.
I can see how it could fruity acid could irritate skin like that. I am highly allergic to mangoes myself! Seeing their poor little burnt faces was so darn upsetting!!

Xena wants nothing to do with those silkworms. She wants crickets and mealworms only. :( actually she did enjoy those phoenix worms, ill order those again, still waiting for those cocoons to turn to flies and start harvesting.

They all have their own preferences.
Sundrop and Kalahari like silkworms but not baby hornworms.
Danny, Sahara and Cherish like both baby hornworms and silkworms.
Lancelot like baby hornworms but not silkworms.
And none of them like mealworms except apparently Danny but I've never given him any.

They're picky creatures.

I had never had a gecko refuse a silkworm or hornworm. I am not saying that it's not possible, but there is a few things that you can try if you haven't already. Some geckos have better vision than others and so it takes a lot to attract them. Try a bigger size or a smaller size. Also pick out the worm that moves most out of the batch. Tap the worm to make it move or try wiggling it. Sometimes we squeeze the worms and injure them, so they do not move enough to attract attention.

Just so that you girls are aware, a reptile becoming picky can be a sign of problems. I don't think this is the situation with your gekos. I just want to inform you so that you do not miss early signs of illness. Something to read. As you can tell typing is too much work sometimes.:)

Reptile Health: Knowing What is Normal - Page 1

Other things to consider when offering prey:

Has the gecko had time to digest the large meal from the day before.

Can the gecko see the insect.

Is it intimidating due to large size.

Sometimes after handling they can feel to stressed to eat.

Did you dust with a MVI which some will refuse.

Time of the day. "Why are you waking me up? It's not dinner time yet!"

Try to offer food when they are on the warm side of the enclosure. I had a friend call me once freaking out." Micky does not want to eat!" I asked if it was the first time and she said yes. I noticed she called me at 5pm. I told her to observe Micky to make sure she had warmed up. She calls me back laughing and informed me that a few minutes after Micky moved to the warm side, she started eating. Well the gecko was sleeping on the cool side and so she was not going to have much of an appetite.

I gave Xena a big silkworm the first time - it seemed to be too big for her, and may have turned her off. Now she seems to smell it look at it and ignore it/run from it. I keep trying everyday however.

those are good tips, thank you! I will try them all for Xena!
Do you prefer silkworms over phoenix worms for nutrition? The silkworms have a fruity odor Im wondering if that turns her off from them! same with the butter worms with fruity smell.
I am trying to get Xena to gain some weight, the fact that she is pregnant and acting picky isnt helping. I wonder if its alright to feed her some of these liquid nutrients i have just to give her a boost during her gravid period,

Im going to purchase a scale to monitor her weight better.
