My leopard gecko hasn't eaten, and poops weird?!

Hi all, I've recently become the proud owner of a baby leopard gecko (about 4 months old). I got her on June 2nd at a reptile rally in Petco (not the best place, I know, but they take good care of their animals in this one.) For the first week and up until two days ago, she's been regularly eating 1-3 medium superworms. She'd poop normally and everything. But lately, she hasn't been eating for the past two days(she ate a pretty big superworm that had just shed the last day she ate), and a few minutes ago, she made a mushy poop (normal coloring though) with a puddle of liquid (I'm assuming and have read it's normal to have some) surrounding it. Her poops have been slightly smaller than usual, but she poops daily. Is she alright?? I house her on repti-carpet/paper towels, she has two hides with moss-one on the cool side (about 80 degrees) and one on the warm side(it's moist and the temp ranges around 92 degrees). She has the calcium and water dish and heater and everything. Should I be worried??

Well, I have very little information to go on. No picture of the gecko, feces or enclosure. You mention reptile carpet/ paper towels? Reptile carpet can harbor bacteria. Are you using a thermostat? Inappropriate temperatures, unsanitary conditions, stress, ect. can lead to bacterial infections. Unfortunately the fact that she came from Petco increases the possibility of potential parasites and/or infection. If it only occured once maybe waiting to see if it repeats itself would be okay. However, if she is not eating I am not sure when they next bowel movement will be. If it happens again and she continues to refuse to eat, a vet visit should follow.

I can't seem to post photos or links on my posts yet, since I'm a newbie and everything. I have a couple of pictures of Marceline in my gallery though? I clean the reptile carpet all the time, and feces daily.. I'm using a thermometer..one of those gauge ones. No idea if that's good enough? The temps are where they should be I believe, 80ish on the cool side, and low 90s on the warm side, the air temp is usually always at 80. And the humidity ranges from 40-a bit over 50 sometimes. And the bad stool has been happening since last night, though before that it was just a bit mushy and watery-normal color though. I might take her to the vet today if my sister is alright with it.

Please check out my Leo Recs which you will find in the caresheet section of GU. I'd link it, but I am just up and running (somewhat) with a new laptop and my Edit function is not available yet.

I actually did already, before buying my little gecko. (did days of research) Thanks for the help and response though. :) She's currently at the vet. I hope she makes it..she's so little. :/

Did you miss the picture of the thermostat? I think you were confused with the difference between a thermometer and thermostat according to your post. Just wanted to make sure you understood. Hope all goes well with your gecko.

Yes, you should. How is your gecko doing?

Okay I'll make some crafts and sell until I have enough to get one. :) I just brought her home today- I was told it was impaction, which she's now recovering quite well from. I've also made a complete switch to crickets instead of those superworms which I recently discarded. They love them! It's great to have her back home.<3

Good to hear that your young leo is on the road to recovery, Aiden! Tell us about the calcium and vitamins you have for her. I realize that there is much info to digest in my Leo Recs :).

Hm, for the calcium and vitamins I bought a jar of repti-med calcium w/vitamin d (phosphourus free). I dust their (my sister has a leopard gecko also) food with it. I also leave some in a little lid I found laying around which they lap up once in a while. Is that alright?

Almost all right. I am unfamiliar with the Repti-Med brand. How much D3 is in it? Petco here carries the Rep-Cal brand. You need a vitamin, plus a calcium with D3, plus pure calcium. You want to leave 100% pure calcium in the dish in the tank. Leaving the type with vitamins and D3 in the tank risks a vitamin and/or D3 overdose.

So it could be Rep-Cal's Herptivite
Rep-Cal's phosphorus-free calcium with vitamin D3
Rep-Cal's pure calcium

(Might be easier to find ZooMed's pure calcium or pure calcium from a health foods store.)

Are these leos in separate cages? Are they similar in size? Never want to have 2 males together. If the geckos are markedly different in size, the larger one might hog all the food.
