Used fish aquarium?

We picked up a larger aquarium for Our little Sundrop today. It is a used aquarium from a reptile but he said it may have been used for fish at one point.
If we sterilize it properly is it safe to use?
I've used preowned tanks from geckos before and wondered about used fish aquariums.
Just wondering what people advise about it.

Long as it is sanitized and the right dimensions,it can used.

when I was little I had a giant assortment of fish I killed them all with the chemicals but we kept the tank so when i had to put my leos in there i sprayed clorox in the tank rinsed it and repeated 5x and rinsed 20x

Yeah it's fine. Just clean it and sanitize it and you'll be good to go.
