substrate desicions

Now that i have aquariums situated i was wondering about what to do in a 20L for my leopard gecko... I thought about a foreground and background but wasn't sure about the UTH getting through 3-4 inches of great stuff... then i thought of non-adheasive shelf-liner cuz that's very easily and commonly used with bearded dragons and uromastyx... but i wasn't sure if it would get too hot from the UTH and burn her... any suggestions?

The most common leopard gecko substrates (outside of sand which is used successfully by some people but is an impaction danger) are paper towel, ceramic tile or slate, repti-carpet. The repti-carpet tends to catch their nails and teeth. The ceramic tile is my personal favorite and if you choose lightly textured beige tiles it looks pretty natural. Whatever substrate you choose, you wlll manage the heat best with a thermostat or at least a rheostat to keep it from getting too hot.

i forgot to mention in the previous post that i'm currently using ceramic tile and was looking at other options. I probably will stick with it though..
Thanks:biggrin:
