My baby leopard gecko was on Sand at the pet shop, but he/she is on Paper towels now. He has pooped no signs of sand in there.

What could it be?

Hi,

They have semi-transparent skin and so what you may be seeing is his organs especially in the young or underweight. There is also a chance of some sand in his belly, however if he is eating and passing stools he should be okay. Just keep an eye on his bowel movements and make sure his temps are accurate.

Thank you, i've had him/her for about 4 days now she/he has been behaving normal, but she/he stays in the cool side all day as she sleeps and when she wakes up she moves to the rest.

Is it natural that she tries to climb up the things in the terrarium?

Temps? under warm hide? cool hide? Can you take a picture of the setup?

I sadly haven't gotten a temperature gauge and hydrometer. It's a 10 gal tank, 40 Watt Bulb (getting 50 watt). My room is currently at least 80 :(.
That's not good. It is very important that you provide him with all necessities. A quality thermometer is a must and crucial to your geckos health. They must have a cool end no higher than 77 and it's impossible to achieve a healthy gradient in a 10 gallon. I highly recommend that you read through this caresheet thoroughly and correct his housing conditions.

Pictures.

I'm sorry, but this setup is not going to work and can lead to stress and illness. Your gecko may be overheating. Trying to climb the glass can be an attempt to escape and an indication of stress.:(

You will cool him with a light in a 10 gallon. Buy a UTH right away.

So what can I do? I really don't want to stress her/him out.

Well, that was the whole reason I provided you with the caresheet. It gives you all the information you need. Size tank, the appropriate temps and everything else that he needs in order to be healthy and happy.

I read that, I know about the temp and tank size (Which i'll fix) But why is the stup stressful

I was referring to the temperatures mainly. When I first looked at the pictures, I only saw hides on one side. Then I realized there was another hide with a plant over it.

Oh wow :p

That's the hide he uses when he sleeps cause it's darker, the bigger one is the moist one, used at times like when he's exploring.

I have a question about taming him. I just laid my hand next to him and he examined it and came up for a lick. I slowly rotate my hand and he backed away then leaned in, I slowly when to pet him with my index finger gently and he screeched.

I suggest you let him settle in for at least 2 more weeks before you start handling him/her. Your gecko can become really stressed, drop his/her tail and worse case scenario stop eating. I would focus on correcting his temps asap instead. I do see a large area on his abdomen in the picture and there may be some sand. Without the proper heating he will not be able to pass the sand and take a turn for the worse. It is very important that you buy the UTH ASAP! You will also need a thermostat to control the UTH. Make sure he has a cool side, if not he can become dehydrated.

You have to copy off of the caresheet. Buy what he needs.

A 20 gallon LONG tank and associated stuff seem a little expensive at first, but you need to consider the costs of buying two tanks, buying two heat pads.

What is your leo's name so that I can customize this thread? Please post all ?s re your leo here rather than beginning separate threads :).
