I don't have a human heating pad but will look for one at least until Saturday.

I think its been over a week since he has eaten.

I don't think he swallowed a rock because whenever he ate he just when to the dish, he didn't have to hunt and/or struggle.

I started to notice his activity slowed down about two weeks ago, but started to get worried within 5 days or so. He won't open his eyes, and I keep finding him in the water bowl, cold....thx.

Does he have a moist humid hide filled with dampened sphagnum moss or paper towel strips? Fresh water daily?

In the 5th picture above, his right rear leg looks like it is at an unusual angle. Perhaps it is just the picture. Was has been your calcium schedule with this gecko? Has he had a dish of pure calcium in his tank 24/7? Are you lightly dusting his prey 2x/week with a powder which contains vitamin D3?

No supplements for over a month Elizabeth and eating mealworms which are so poor in calcium.:(

Do you at least have a thermometer? I am wondering if the reason he is laying in the water dish could be it's too hot in the enclosure? Could he have suffered a burn underneath whether from the heat rock or a high bulb beaming on the rocks. I would remove the rocks and use paper towel.

Hi All:

He drank another 1.5 ml pediolyte, he's in the moist hideout, the temp on the ground is 85 deg, and humidity is 60, little high. Saturday I am picking up a new setup with a heating mat. What should I use for top heating and/or lighting? Do I give him some turkey baby food with pediolyte and calcium/vitamins tonite?? Thx.

Yes you should feed him tonight. But they dont need light. The need belly heat. Just make sure the mat only gets to about 90 with whatever substrate you are using on top of it. :) but if that floor temp is a bit low you can use a red/blue/black light for just additional heat.

He/she said that the heat mat is broken.

I surely don't feel comfortable telling you to feed a gecko who doesn't have enough heat to digest his food. Your gecko really needs the temps in the caresheet and it's important that you are reading the temps with a quality thermometer.

Gymcie ~

All leos need belly heat between 88-93 F depending upon the leo and good air temps right above the warm hide no warmer than 85 F. If one does not provide an overhead dome housing a ceramic heat emitter, all leos have is a warm spot. A leo will not be very active unless his heat needs are met from below as well as above :). He will also be more susceptible to illness and disease.

Can't you ask somebody to give you a ride to the pet store? You need to put in more effort if you want your gecko to live.

I am going to the city tommorow, will pick up a heat emitter and a mat.

I'm hoping you are also buying the 20 gallon long? CHE's let out very penetrating heat and will overheat the gecko in a 10 gallon. Once you buy everything he needs and have it all set up please post a picture of him and the enclosure.
