The numbers at the end of a signature?

I feel so stupid asking this. :blushing: But at the end of a person's signature there will be some numbers and then the type of animal.
For example:
1.2.1 Leopard Gecko
2.0.1 Leopard Gecko

Can someone please tell me what the numbers mean?
