screen cage for geckos

Hello chaps dont exactly consider myself as a noob, owning large amount of reptiles, but didn't figure any other place to make a topic in

What kind of arboreal gecko is suitable for a screen cage, the old chameleons in it came to the end of their road.

so south African arboreal species, or ones that tolerate smaller humidity levels

Cages size is 90x45x45

more unusual species are more then welcome

Honestly I have never tried to keep any gecko in a screen cage.
What are the day/night humidity levels in such a cage?
I would suggest rather large and hardy species of geckos, such as Blaesodactylus sp., Homopholis wahlbergii, Chondrodactylus turneri as examples, all are best kept in pairs and are nocturnal but do show some activity during the day.

While I find the geckos you recommended attractive I don't want any more geckos that want to chew bubblegum, while their all out of bubblegum, if you catch my drift, my tokay causes enough head aiche at times.. Smaller and more calm is more what im looking for, if I don't find a species I like il just put my gargoyle innit when he's larger, just hamn is coming up and could get something new and extra cool :-]

Hyvää päivää minun suomalainen ystavaa . Then why not some Lygodactylus or Phelsuma if you can offer them proper UVB lighthing? ;)

Not my b'day nevertheless impressive :-D yeah I was considering lygodactylus, got williamsii myself right now, just not certain if the humidity is enough, perhaps kimhowelli or luteopictatus? Guess I have to measure what humidity levels I can maintain

Pretty sure phelsumas are out of the question, got a uvb solar raptor 75w and uvb meter, so that's not a problem, heat could be around 20c at winters in my flat, that might be problematic aswell. Guess I need to speak to someone specialized in lygodactylus

I am pretty sure you would have no problems with luteopicturatus, kimhowelli, and similar savannah-dwelling species. They do need a basking spot with a fair amount of heat (up to 40°C) but the humidity level does not need to be so high. There are only seasonal variations to simulate in captivity, with a rainy and warmer period, and a cooler and dryer one, approx. 6/6 months.
As for 20°C at night, a small heat mat or heating cable placed under the screen cage should be way enough to get night temps @ 24°C ;)
P.S.: Humppa!

Just spoke with a person breeding Lygodactylus species, apparently they simply dont do well in screens, no matter how badly i want them to. Guess the screens destined to head to storage!

I would be glad to know why this is not recommended, since these species live in open environments? ;)

I doubt hes awake currently, but you have to realise that the humidity drops can be dramatical at times, having that 20% isnt gonna be rare. He did mention hes friend had some Lygodactylus (in general) in screens and they dried up badly and past away

I still decided to spend around a lil :p Got Lygodactylus picturatus pair comin, its extremely rare you get a gecko fitted to a terrarium, rather then a terrarium fitted for a geko :p And still get the species you want to breed
