:? Leopard gecko- 7 years old- I've only been caring for him for 5 months. New to reptiles.

Okay so today I put in a new hide hut from the pet store and new "terrarium carpeting".

My gecko won't go in the new hut and he got cold so I put his old familiar one on the heated side and the new one on the cooler side so he can just get use to it.
But he STILL won't even go his old one!! I thought maybe he can smell the pet store on his new carpet and hut.

And he is VERY restless-running around- clawing at the glass- chasing his reflection maybe??? I took him out and let him explore my room to get his energy out.

Is he upset about the new changes perhaps? Will he settle down and get use to it or could he not feel well???
He's eating fine, pooping normally with urates.

ALSO randomly- he only poops in one corner of his enclosure. Awesome is this typical of geckos or is mine potty trained?

ANY feedback appreciated!! THANK YOU.

His Temp's could be off if he is climbing the glass what are you using for a heat source? His Ground Temps on the warm side should be 88-93 F., and his "air" Temps should be 85-86 .F The cool side should be around the 70's.

Do you have a "humid" hide for him?

Leo's do "choose" a certain spot for a bathroom, so that's normal.

Well he has an under tank heat pad under his main hut. I have "point & click" thermometer and it says its about 90 there. My room is about 70, a bit cold. His cool side is about 72.
I don't keep a moist hut in his tank all the time, but when I see he is about to shed and his skin gets white and ashy I put one in and he always sheds perfectly. He sheds every 3 weeks.

Hello,

Your gecko needs a humidity hide at all times. Not only for shedding , but hydration as well. Please read over the caresheet and make sure the temperatures are correct as well as everything else.
