Showing off my Nephrurus

Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I've posted on this forum, but I noticed that the Nephrurus section hasn't gotten a lot of posts lately in general so here's my effort to get some life back into the forum. Below are some pics of my Nephrurus animals. The first is my N.amyae female. She's around 40g and doing great. The next is my newest addition my N.levis levis male. He's about 16g. I love the nephrurus genus and I've had a great time keeping these two species. I'm going back and forth on whether I should add N.wheeleri to my family next or perhaps a male N.amyae...Enjoy!

Very nice amyae and levis! I agree there hasn't been a lot of action around here lately. I think part of it is just the season but would love to see more discussions as well (I see a new years resolution in my future ...;-).

How do you keep your Nephs? I am growing more curious about hot/cold temps, food items, watering methods, supplements, etc, and how these factors impact long term health.

I keep them with high temps in the mid to high 80s (85-88 ) and low temps around mid 70s. I water the N. amyae moist side about 2 times a week and the N.levis every other day. I feed them both mainly crickets, occasionally superworms and rarely waxworms. I tend to feed my N.amyae 3-5 crickets every other day and my N.levis 2-3 crickets every other day. The supplements that I use with their food are Rep-Cal's Herptivite and Repti-Cal's Ca with vitamin D3. This routine is just based off of my own observations with my animals along with some info that I put together from other keepers on the internet.

1 is males 0 is females and 2 is unsexable hatchlings

Ya I would love to start to breed N.amyae. Luckily I only need a male because my wallet would hurt pretty badly if I needed a female.

Found my female perched on top of her cave right under the infrared heat lamp that I set up now that its getting colder for the winter.
