Keeping Two LG Together
Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but while at Repticon my boyfriend and I were considering getting two LG but decided against it for two reasons:
1) The one I already purchased was relatively small ~2 months, the one he was looking at was larger than this. We were told not to keep two together if there was such a difference in size due to potential conflict with the larger one taking all the food, bullying, etc.
2) My gecko was too young to sex. If it turned out that we had two males, there could be fighting, if it were one male and one female they would breed (this is taxing on the female to produce eggs, etc.), if they were two females (1/3 chance) then we would be ok.
If you have a local Petco and some money left over you may consider buying an additional tank. They are having their $1 per gallon sale (started yesterday). Or at the very least maybe provide at least two hides in each area of the tank (2) cool hides (2) warm hides and (2) moist hides, so there are ample spaces for each to have their own area to avoid conflict. Also maybe feed them in seperate containers until their size differences are evened out?
Just like you, I am a newbie, but just wanted to throw my two cents in there. I am sure some of the experts would have more to say about this (if there is anything to say). But congrats on your new baby! Such a cutie!
