Male Christinus Marmoratus with neck bulges?

We've had our marbled gecko for 9 months now. He was skinny and malnourished when we got him, but quickly began to eat well. We give him 3-ish 2nd moult crickets every day, dusted with Reptavite. Once a week he gets mashed banana with a sprinkling of Reptavite, which he loves.

He is about 4 and a half inches long, and we don't know how old he is, but we presume he is full-grown because he hasn't got any longer. He filled out quickly, but over the last month or so we have noticed that the slight bulges in his neck forward of his arms have got quite a lot bigger. Does anyone know what that might mean?

We've read that females store calcium in their necks for eggs, but we're almost certain this is a male. There is no evidence of any eggs when we get a good look at his belly. He's very active, alert and bright-eyed - he looks very healthy.

Could we be over-feeding him? Too much Reptavite maybe?

Thank you so much. I'd hate for the little guy to be poorly and for us not to realise, especially if it's something we're doing wrong. He's part of the family and special, you know?
